NEW MOBILE PHONE SERVICE KEEPS TRACK OF CHILDREN

The days of worrying about the whereabouts of your child are numbered thanks to a new service called ChildLocate, which enables parents to locate their children using the latest mobile phone technology.

ChildLocate is the first service of its type available which is aimed specifically at parents and is a discreet and secure way of locating the child using a mobile phone, so that they do not feel pestered by repeated phone calls to find out where they are.

The service gives parents peace of mind without disturbing the child or making them feel under constant surveillance.

For a monthly subscription, parents can locate their children's whereabouts in an instant by accessing a webpage, which then shows the child's location on a map, or by using a mobile phone, which indicates the area by text.

The service can be used for mobile phones currently using the Vodafone, T-Mobile and o2 networks.

Stringent security and privacy features are built into the system to prevent unauthorised persons from using it. Parents and legal guardians are only allowed to locate their own children with ChildLocate and the system verifies the identity of it's customers to avoid abuse. The child is in full control of its privacy and is notified on a regular basis who has permission to locate it.

“We follow a strict Privacy Management Code of Practice which was developed with input from major child protection agencies and the main UK mobile operators and we are confident that we offer the safest service available today” he said.

The ChildLocate service works best in urban areas where it is accurate from 50 to 500 metres in urban areas, but less in rural areas.

ChildLocate is launched by Newbury based MobileLocate Ltd. in partnership with the Icelandic company, TrackWell Software who has implemented location based safety services with mobile operators and emergency services across Scandinavia.

Parents pay a monthly fee of £9.99 to have access to the service. The monthly fee includes 10 free location requests and 10 free text messages. Additional location requests are charged at 30p and text messages at 10p.

Parents are billed automatically for additional use so they don't have to worry of running out of credit when they need the service the most.

MobileLocate operates a 24 hour support line for parents. We donate 20p of your monthly payment to charity.
